Pretty Beach Public School - Home Quality Education, Environment, Leadership, Working Together, Community
Quality education in a unique environment

Sport and Health

At Pretty Beach we believe participation in sport helps develop healthier children and helps build confidence, teamwork and leadership.

We provide daily physical education and access to a range of competitive and non-competitive sports including soccer and touch football. There are opportunities for representation at school, zone, regional and state levels in sports including swimming, cross country and athletics.

The health component of our Personal Development, Health and Physical Education program involves not only being active but following a healthy lifestyle. Our canteen supports this by providing healthy food choices for students. Our staff and parents are committed to the philosophy that healthy bodies and healthy minds lead to a healthy school community.

Our students competed in our Annual Cross Country races. Congratulations to Pelicans who won the day.

The students ran from the boat ramp along the ‘dog’ track on the edge of the waterfront to Hardys Bay and back again. They were supervised by some of our parents with Mr McInerney organising another successful event. (They too enjoyed an iceblock on their return to school.)

K to 2 Cross Country

Our Kindergarten, Year 1 and 2 students compete in our mini Cross Country organised by Mrs Selwood.

They all enjoyed running around our school oval being guided by our Year 6 leaders. Mrs Callender then rewarded them with an ice block to cool down with afterwards.

Walk Safely to School Day

Our students certainly put their best foot forward when 80 students participated in this national event.

They were encouraged to walk to school as a means of promoting road safety, health and the environment.

Fitness Groups

Our students are participating in fitness groups this term.

They are participating in The Premiers Sporting Challenge which encourages students to be more active more often. These groups will help with their goal to become more active and to lead healthy, active lifestyles.

Boys Soccer Knockout Team

Our boys Soccer Knockout Team played Copacabana School at Kincumber High School oval.

Despite a fantastic effort by our team they were unfortunately knocked out.

AFL Clinics

Justin from Central Coast AFL ran clinics for our students.

They were shown some basic skills needed to play AFL. Our students enjoyed learning some new skills while having fun.

Kindergarten Sport

Kindergarten is having a great time at Sport.

They need to work well together at passing the ball around the circle before the student running around completes the circuit.

Year 1/2 Sport

Year 1/2 enjoy playing game of kick ball for Sport.

This game is based on the softball triangle but a soccer ball is used instead.
